Frequently asked questions
- Do you charge for quotes?
- No. Quotes and site visits are free and there is no obligation to book.
- How much does a new fence cost?
- It depends on length, height, materials, ground conditions and access. We give a clear written price after measuring up so you know exactly what you are paying for.
- Is your work guaranteed?
- Yes. All work is fully guaranteed and the business is fully insured. Guarantee details are confirmed in writing with your quote.
- How long will my job take?
- Most domestic fence runs take one to two days; gates, decking and pergolas vary. We confirm the timescale before we start.
- Which fence is mine — left or right?
- There is no legal rule, despite the common myth. Your title deeds or Land Registry plan usually show boundary ownership. If you are unsure, check before commissioning work.
- Do I need planning permission for a fence?
- Generally fences up to 2m in a rear garden, or 1m next to a highway, fall under permitted development. Listed buildings and conservation areas differ — check with Stoke-on-Trent City Council if in doubt.
- Do you remove the old fence?
- Yes, removal and responsible disposal can be included in your quote.
- Do you work for businesses as well as homeowners?
- Yes. Ben has installed fencing and gates both domestically and commercially for over twenty years.
- Which areas do you cover?
- We work across Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding Staffordshire towns including Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stone, Leek and Cheadle. If you are slightly further out, just ask.
- Can you repair storm damage?
- Yes — replacement panels, snapped posts, re-hanging dropped gates and general repairs are all part of what we do.
